Take 1... I wore this to have coffee with friends and run errands in the morning.

I did a casual leather jacket and flats, which I changed for work in the afternoon.

I want to wear this dress every day for a few reasons...it's knit, therefore it's super comfy, I love anything with polka dots, and I could find about 200 different ways to wear it. Ok, maybe not 200 but definitely 20.

50 shades of sequins

An outfit I wore this week to co-host 50 Shades of Sequins, a women's group at NewPointe Community Church where we have fun, connect with other women and grow in our walks with Jesus. We would love to have you join us.

I had bought this dress for the Holidays but when sequins are the theme why not dress the part? I think sometimes we should dress in sequins just because we feel like it. After all, we are to shine like stars so why not wear them.

What do you think; should we keep our sequins for special occasions or wear them whenever we feel like it?

there are rules to breaking rules

If you have ever asked me "how do I know what boots to wear with what tights/leggings/pants" you know my response generally is "match your tights/leggings/pants to your boots, it will give you a longer leg line and it's thought process free".

Well, rules are meant to be broken, right?! Like a store associate and I were discussing recently; there are rules to breaking rules. In this case I chose to wear black skinny pants with tan boots. Why? Mostly because I wanted to but it also works since I have shades of tan in my tee and scarf.

I rarely do this since I carry my weight in my tush and hips and a "non-matching" combination can tend to emphasize this. What do you think? Do you prefer matching combinations?

summer dress in the winter

A simple outfit of a basic gray sweatshirt worn over a summer dress. Adding a scarf, leggings and boots transforms it into a comfy winter outfit.
