red jeans in the summer

I have a collection of vests, jackets and cardigans as I think they dress up just about any outfit. One of my clients calls them her security blankets. I agree with her, when I throw on a vest, jacket or cardigan it makes me feel "safe", like it's hiding things I want hidden. What do you think? Is it true or are we just trying to hide our insecurities?
