Client Closet of the Month is where an established client receives a complimentary 2 hour Closet Shopping Service in exchange for her/him posing in outfits I put together of what they already have in their closet.

Say hello to Jess who is 21years old, works full time as a bank teller, enjoys going to the gym and hanging out with her family and friends. I have known Jess since she was 9 years old and it has been fun watching her grow into a beautiful young women.

When I first met Jess all I ever saw her in was a tee and gym shorts. This continued to be her basic wardrobe for quite a few years until her mom made her dress like a lady at times, not without a fight if I remember correctly. 

Being a basketball player through high school the gym shorts and tee continued to be a basic in her wardrobe. Here she is doing shorts and tees/tops that are comfortable, fun, and definitely more flattering than gym shorts.

I have been wanting and waiting for the perfect pair of patterned pants. Some were just too much and others were not enough pattern for me. When I spotted these windowpane plaid ones at the The Loft, my heart skipped a beat and I fell in love. Expect to see them a lot more. The best part, I only paid $16 for them since I had a coupon and a rewards card!

My niece was with me and fell in love with them as well. Maybe I can get her to show you how she is wearing hers.

Was I feeling "colorless" this day? No, I just needed something quick and easy for work. Doing bridal makeup is such a fun part of my job, everyone is excited, happy and looking forward to a perfect day. Last Saturday was no exception, the bride was absolutely beautiful and her party was super organized and fun.

What's your go-to outfit that you know will always work and be comfortable?

maxi dress and scarf

I love a maxi dress but they are certainly harder to find (and wear) for someone who is 5'2" and has curves. I found this dress a few years ago and bought it (for $6 with rewards cards) because I loved the color and print. The fit however, was not perfect. I did some major tailoring and was very happy with the results. I shortened the shoulder straps a few inches, shortened the hem, took the skirt off the bodice and took out fullness in the skirt (it was just too much fabric for me), giving it a much "leaner" fit. 

When deciding if something is worth tailoring, ask yourself the question...How much do I love it and how much more am I willing to spend on having it tailored.

What I wore last weekend for a fun date with hubby at Rebecca's Bistro where we had an amazing steak (one of the best I have ever had) at their monthly Gourmet Night. If you have never had the pleasure of dining here, go, go soon, you won't regret it!
