Client Closet of the Month - Couple's Style, day 6

Client Closet of the Month is where an established client receives a complimentary 2 hour Closet Shopping Service in exchange for her/him posing in outfits I put together of what they already have in their closet.

Shirt and Jeans - Express
Shoes - DSW
Another typical work outfit for Matt.

Dress - Loft
Cardigan - Limited
Necklace - J Crew
Boots - Macy's
A great work outfit for Sara which can easily transition into evening or weekend. A knit dress is one of the easiest pieces to work with in a closet due to it's versatility.

Jacket - Old Navy
I love how quickly you can change the look and feel of an outfit by simply changing out the cardigan for a leather jacket. Monochromatic, chic and comfortable.

Client Closet of the Month - Couple's Style, day 5

Client Closet of the Month is where an established client receives a complimentary 2 hour Closet Shopping Service in exchange for her/him posing in outfits I put together of what they already have in their closet.

Tee and Jeans - Express
Shirt - AE
Shoes - DSW
Matt in a tee, button up and jeans, a great look for playing in the band at New Pointe Community Church.

Tee - Loft
Jeans - Express
Jacket - Old Navy
Shoes - Target
Sara looks like a sporty mom-on-the-go. Having a great fitting tee and jeans is just as comfortable as a tee and sweats but doesn't look like you have given up on life. Yes, I just said it and you are welcome to disagree with me.
However, remember the Seinfeld episode where George always wore sweatpants? (I attached it below to jog your memory) Well I was the girl who always wore sweatpants until this episode and the hubby told me that I was George. Harsh, but true. And now I thank him for it and do not own sweatpants and you will never see me in them. Ever. The end. ~ Rhoda

Client Closet of the Month - Couple's Style, day 4

Client Closet of the Month is where an established client receives a complimentary 2 hour Closet Shopping Service in exchange for her/him posing in outfits I put together of what they already have in their closet.

Matt was really getting into the whole posing thing and was even trying to perfect the "girly blogger pose". I have never laughed so much while playing photographer for my Client Closet of the Month.

Yep, he is definitely getting into striking a pose. (the football was his idea)
Shirt and Jeans - Express
Shoes - DSW

Sara looks fabulous in her colored pants and heels with a little stripe on stripe action going on. She wasn't so sure at first but loved the end result. This would be a great date outfit or she could do flats and wear it to work.

Tank Top and Pants - Express
Cardigan - Gabriel Brothers
Shoes - Macy's

Client Closet of the Month - Couple's Style, day 3

Client Closet of the Month is where an established client receives a complimentary 2 hour Closet Shopping Service in exchange for her/him posing in outfits I put together of what they already have in their closet.

This is a typical work outfit for Matt.
A black belt and shoes has always been the normal with a gray suit or pants, and is still very dressy. A tan and gray combination however feels feels modern and "fresh". Tell me what you think, would you wear (or have your hubby/boyfriend wear) this combination?

Sara in another great outfit for Fall. As the weather gets colder she could always add a jacket or cardigan. This type of outfit has always been a go-to for me during the chilly months. A dress, leggings and flat boots are as comfy as pj's but super stylish.

Dress - Express
Belt - don't know
Boots - TJ Maxx
Handbag - Coach

Shirt and Jeans - Express
Shoes - DSW

A great weekend look for Matt includes jeans and a button up.

Tee - J Crew
Cardigan and Pants - Loft
SandalsClarks

This bright, fun outfit will take Sara from work to kid's ballgames, and is a great weekend outfit as well.
And can you believe she found the same Clarks sandals I have and have raved to you about but could no longer find. She found them on Amazon, so hit the link, shop and love the comfort. Plus they are on sale!

Client Closet of the Month - Couple's Style

Client Closet of the Month is where an established client receives a complimentary 2 hour Closet Shopping Service in exchange for her/him posing in outfits I put together of what they already have in their closet.

Say hello to Matt and Sara who are busy parents of two young, active boys. Matt is a Supply Chain Manager with a local Fortune 500 company while Sara is employed at New Pointe Community Church. Matt is also a band member of the New Pointe worship team, making him an executive by day and rock star by night. (Yes, I  really wanted to say that.) Therefore he needs a business professional wardrobe plus a casual wardrobe that reflects his personality and lifestyle.
Sara loves shopping and fashion but said her outfits need to "make sense", and as always I want her to have a wardrobe that does that while complimenting her personal style.

OK seriously, could these two be any cuter?!

Suit and Shirt - Express
Tie - Kohl's
Shoes - DSW
Matt looks sophisticated and polished in his suit.

Men, pay attention to the fit of your suit jacket, keep the pleats off the pants, and make so you have one "bend" in your leg-line with the hem laying on top of your shoe.
Now... I know the trend may be to wear your pants shorter but let's all just admit it simply looks like you're wearing "high waters" making you appear shorter, all of which I think is rather unmanly. There, now you know how I feel about that.

Dress - Limited
Shoes - Macy's
Necklace - Express
Clutch Bag - Coach
Sara looks amazing in her perfect little black dress, one she could wear so many different ways, and I know that she will. Having a dress such as this is priceless.

Trends come and trends go...like this unstructured boyfriend shirt I tell my clients not to do. "Keep it structured, make sure it has princess seams or darts when doing a button up shirt" is something I repeat all the time. Don't you just love when I don't follow my own rules.
Yesterday I gave it shape by doing a half-tuck but also fully intend on wearing it not tucked with a pair of skinny jeans.
What do you think, is a boyfriend shirt too boxy and would you wear it?

perfect fitting black dress

I wore this outfit to a funeral last week and was debating on whether or not to mention this fact simply because I don't want to be a "downer".
However, I decided it's a part of life and "What do I wear to a funeral?" is a question I get all the time from clients. Also, when I am in their closets there always seems to be a long ill-fitting black skirt or dress hiding way in the back. When asked why it's there, the response is always the same. "It's my funeral dress or skirt."
Why do we feel like we shouldn't look good when attending a funeral?
My suggestion...purchase a really great fitting dark dress or skirt (one that you would wear all the time), add a cardigan and simple accessories to look great and still be appropriate.

I would also wear this outfit to work in a heartbeat.
