6 days in Vegas

These are my 6 outfits I wore while working in Vegas last week.

Re-wearing my jacket and white jeans. It's how you pack with a carry-on and still have room to do a little shopping. Which we did have a few minutes for and I picked up these boots at Vince Camuto for $45. Yes, I was a bit excited as I had seen them earlier this season for about $120.

Last day of work, and travel home. We had a red-eye flight so I wanted to make sure I was wearing something super comfortable. I was in this outfit for over 24 hours and it was like wearing pj's.

Happy New Year!

An outfit I wore for a party over the Holidays.

This is me still smiling after I realized I just stepped into dog poop (yes, you can see it on my shoes). When there is a lot of snow the dog poops on the patio so he can rush back in. Well the snow had melted, it was raining and the poop was extra squishy when I stepped in it. Do you want more of a visual? Lol.

This makes me think of life...

Do we keep smiling after we've "stepped into a pile of poop" or do we throw in the towel because now everything smells and we end up having a bad day?

Do we step right outside the door, "take a crap" and hope somebody else steps in it, possibly ruining their day? 

Well I think if you're a "crapper" you should re-think your attitude.

If you're the person that has their day ruined because of a little "poop" you might want to lighten up and enjoy life more.

If you keep smiling in spite of a little "poop", keep it up, because you will always get "poop" in your life no matter who you are. Life is more about your attitude and reactions than the actual situations and circumstances.

Well there are my thoughts for the new year. I hope you make yours great. I certainly am planning on it!

Sequins to the office? Why not? 

This is a professional yet Holiday looking outfit. I added a solid cardigan to tone down the all-over sequins, therefore making it office appropriate. If you have a party in the evening, simply lose the cardigan, add some bold lips and you are party ready.

An easy way to wear colored tights is to keep the rest of your outfit pretty neutral and let that be the interest in your ensemble.

With a show of hands; who likes patterned tights and who thinks they are for little girls only?

Well obviously I don't think they are just for girls but think it can make an outfit fun and creative. Keep the top half neutral and let it be about the tights.

 If you like a certain style be bold, don't worry about what people think, wear it with confidence and have a marvelous day!

Polka dots, color, and ankle boots; all the things that make me happy in an outfit. Like I said on this post nude colored ankle boots are leg lengthening and perfect for wearing with bare legs in the Fall.

A knit pencil skirt and easy button up is a "softer" but equally dressy version of the typical pencil skirt and button up. It's super comfortable for a whole day of work.

I don't wear my pencil skirts very often and every time I do I wonder why I don't. Paired with a structured jacket a pencil skirt makes me feel very professional, "crisp", and lean and I tend to perform accordingly.

a maxi skirt in the Fall

I'm not much of a maxi skirt/dress wearer as I'm only 5'2" and curvy, but I couldn't resist a maxi skirt with bold stripes such as these. I kept the skirt long and wore it with platform sandals to give me a longer leg line.

When doing a maxi skirt or dress for Fall add a fitted, shorter jacket or cardigan to avoid looking bulky.

bright and full...

A bright anchor sweater and a full skirt sure does make my day. 

A full skirt is often a question for a lot of people...won't it just make me look bigger? Does it give me curves? How do I wear it? What do I wear with it?

First things first; is it you? If not, then ok. For instance you will never see Gail wearing a full skirt as it's just simply not her style. And that's ok. Not sure if it's your style? Try it on. Wear it higher (at your natural waistline), do a fitted top and tuck it in, with or without a belt. You just may be pleasantly surprised with the results...or hate it. Either way, at least you tried it, and that's always a good thing.
