This is how I dress shorts up for work...
A dressier tank top, jacket and wedges immediately make a pair of shorts less casual and more work appropriate. Now obviously it depends hugely on your place of work on whether you can pull this off or not. As an Image Consultant I can do this depending on what my job consists of for that day. Make sure shorts are allowed at your place of work before attempting this. If they are not, try it for the weekend or evening.
Either way, mix it up and have fun with your wardrobe.

Bracelets, Necklace and Earrings - bfearless
Sandals - Clark's
