graphics, color and fur

Don't immediately judge something on the hanger.
This dress is actually very boxy and shapeless on a hanger. By simply adding a belt I can give it shape and interest.

When shopping try things on and add accessories before ruling them out. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. That's why you need to try it on and play around with it. Shopping for things that fit well and look good on you isn't always a walk in the park. Like a client said to me during a 5 hour shop "I didn't know looking effortless took this much effort."

double dots and chambray

Mixing dots with dots makes me happy just like all pattern mixing. The key to pattern mixing is to have one pattern be larger than the other, and if it's simply not your style that is quite alright. Wear what you love and love what you wear.

Well, I am off to the sunny south to celebrate my nieces' wedding and enjoy spring break with the family. Therefore, you may or may not get any posts the next week. Either way, enjoy your weekend and spring break!

dots for my legs

Color and dots can make my work day even more cheerful and fun than normal. Not sure that's possible. Yes, I really love my job that much. As an Image Consultant and Makeup Artist it's like working with human Barbie dolls all day. It's true.

This dress is one of my favorite recent purchases. It's really just a sweatshirt in dress form. Here are two ways I have worn it over the last couple of weeks, although I do end up wearing it almost every weekend. It's just ridiculously comfortable.

A few ways I have worn my printed raspberry pants the last couple of months.
Printed, colored pants really can be versatile, you just need to be creative and wear them confidentially.

dots, cheetah and denim

Polka dots and cheetah print are two of my favorite prints, so why not mix them in an outfit. Yep, it just makes me happy. And since we have to get dressed why not wear something that makes you feel good. It also helps you have a more positive attitude throughout the day. It's true. Try it.

chevron and dots

And here I am mixing patterns again. Chevron stripes are everywhere and I am loving mixing my new scarf with other patterns. Thanks to Sheri Kate Designs for the softest scarf in the greatest color and pattern. Check out her etsy shop for more fun colors and patterns.

I am in love with my new specs from Warby Parker
They may quite possibly have the most brilliant plan when it comes to shopping for frames online. You get to try 5 frames for five days for $1 and no shipping. Then simply send them all back and order the ones you loved online. I had them in a couple of days. I know, brilliant! I had my local optometrist put my lenses in since I need bifocals.
Not a paid plug, I was just that impressed.

Client Closet of the Month - behind the scenes

Some behind the scenes from this last weeks styling and photo shoot with Jenny, Amber, Kate and Rachel.
Enjoy :)

Yes, we did lots of laughing and yes, Rachel (on right) is very animated.

Apparently I'm super funny! (love this picture)

The princess is getting tired of posing.

Just me styling while the princess makes faces behind my back. LOL

Rachel posing Kate into perfection. Apparently actually moving her head works better than giving directions. Smile.

Practice poses. Deciding what their next pose will be. There is a mirror hanging on their front porch which was ideal for this particular part of the day. Yes, it pretty much happened between all outfits.

Not sure what I was doing but obviously it was funny.

Part of the reason we were always laughing.

And more prepping...and acting...and being annoyed...

Take 1 on the Bond Girl pose...Jenny and Amber may need to lose the smiles.

Thanks girls! I love you all!
