How I wore these leggings from day to evening. 

Daytime - I had my sons basketball game to go to and errands to run, so I paired them with a tank top and sweatshirt for a comfortable, easy look.

Evening - It was date night with my husband so I switched out the sweatshirt and boots for something more elegant and sexy.

Linen Dress Remix

This is another one of my favorite dresses I got at a local boutique (Berlin Village Gift Barn). It came with a little rope belt, which I have never worn. I almost always switch out self belts for ones I have in my closet. Personally, I think it adds more personality. But hey, that's just me.

Anyway, by now the kids, hubby, and I should be done spending time with Mickey Mouse and his crew, and be in Sarasota hanging out with my parents, Gail and her family, and some in-laws! I get to stay for another week and a half! Whoop, Whoop!!!

I will resume regular posting next week from my sunny location.

Yellow Cardigan Remix

What do you think...do we love our yellow cardigans or what!

Gail and I both have a yellow cardigan that's very similar in style. As you can tell, we wear them with everything. It adds an instant pop of color to your outfit. Enough said!

Tank Dress Remix

This is quite possibly the simplest dress ever! Again, I try and wear most of my wardrobe year round. I have also worn this with a bright tank top under it, simple accessories, and flats. At times it doubles as a bathing suit cover up. Versatility at it's finest!

Maxi Dress Remix

I had this dress in my closet for awhile, never wore it, gave it to a friend (I think she wore it once), I asked for it back (yes, you can do that!), and have been wearing it since.

The first time I wore it (with the denim jacket) I still felt like it was a bit much fabric for me. Therefore, it was time for some alterations! I took the bodice off the skirt, took about 3 inches off on each side of the skirt and reattached it to the bodice. As you can see in the second photo, it's not as full which makes it a little sleeker.

If you don't sew, find yourself a great tailor, it can revitalize your wardrobe!

Black Shirt Remix

This oversize black shirt from Express is sheer and so easy to wear. As with everything in my closet, I try to wear it in all seasons.

Breeze

My niece Brooke is remixing a denim skirt I found on the Wal-Mart clearance rack for $3.

A simple tank top, necklace, and flat strappy sandals is an easy, breezy outfit.

She adds a denim jacket (in a denim that does NOT match the skirt, to avoid the "denim suit" look) for added personality.

Brooke is wearing a fitted dress as a shirt, by tucking it into her skirt, making it a very versatile piece in her wardrobe.

She adds a sweatshirt that's tailored more like a jacket making it a little less sporty.

Vanessa in a Tee from Maurices, Jacket from Macy's, and Seven Jeans from Lane Bryant. Plaid tennis shoes keep it casual and fun.

Dressing up the same Jacket and Jeans with a Tank from Limited, Boots and a Necklace.

This is what Jeans should do for your tush! Having a great fitting pair of jeans will make your tush look lifted, compact, and tight, no matter what size it is. Pay attention to the pockets when shopping for jeans...they should sit close together, almost straight up and down, and never go below your tush. It's all about fit and details! Happy jean shopping!!!

Vanessa Mixes It Up!

Our niece, Vanessa is rockin a striped tee and giving us a few cute ideas.

Added a sweater from Pac Sun for warmth. Yes, you can wear two stripes together, as long as one is bigger than the other. Love the detail and color of the shoes.

She said she feels like she should go to a tea party in her skirt from Express and shoes from Wet Seal. She does look rather demure and lady like. Again, you can wear prints and stripes together as long as one print overpowers the other.

Brooke and Vanessa frequently model for me when I am working with teenagers (church groups, high school groups etc...)and we are discussing how to wear the lastest trends, dressing for your body type, etc... Last week when I picked out their outfits (out of their wardrobe) I made them pose for me so I could share them with you. More to come over the next few weeks. - Rhoda
