Skinny Jeans work for her

Dawn figure looks great in a pair of dark wash skinny jeans (Loft). This is how you do denim on denim. Avoid the "denim suit look" by doing different washes and shades of denim. In other words, DON"T MATCH YOUR DENIM!

Preppy long sleeve tee (Express) toned down with a camel cardigan sweater (Loft), and fun cheetah print Sperry's. And how fabulous is her handbag (Michael Kors)?! A gift from her hubby! I think he should give lessons to all men everywhere!

Simple knit dress

Dawn is rockin' a simple knit dress, which I refer to as "socially acceptable" pj's, as it is quite possibly the most comfortable thing on earth to wear. Above we belted it and added a scarf for added interest. Layering it with a jacket (Loft) and boots (DSW) makes it wearable year round.

Dawn is wearing the dress as a skirt by layering it with a button up shirt (Express). Adding a belt (Wet Seal) gives her waist more definition. Her necklace (Charlotte Russe) and fun red shoes (DSW) are simple, yet stand out.

Orange you fantastic

Dawn looks amazing in her orange pencil skirt (from Limited). She wasn't to sure about the color until I showed her how versatile it can be. I believe she will be wearing it quite a bit!

Super simple and comfortable paired with her denim shirt and cheetah print Sperry's.

Layered with her striped tee (Express) and jacket (Loft). Add tall boots (DSW) and tights (Hue brand from Macy's) and Dawn is ready for cooler weather.

October Client Closet of the Month

Client Closet of the Month is where an established client receives a complimentary 2 hour Closet Shopping Service in exchange for her/him posing in 7-10 outfits I put together of what they already have in their closet.

Meet Dawn. She is an elegant dresser who also loves dramatic accessories and fun color combinations. I recently put together an entire wardrobe for Dawn, who lost quite a bit of weight and had nothing left in her closet that fit.

This week she will be posing in two outfits every day. I wanted to show you how versatile her new wardrobe is. I made 65 outfits of what she had in her closet, in 3 hours. I could have made more but we were out of time.

Dawn needed a relatively casual wardrobe for her lifestyle and work. Featured here are her trouser jeans (from The Loft), which I think is a go-to pant. If you are heading out and wondering...should I be wearing jeans or dress pants? Choose your trouser jeans and you will always be appropriate. It's simply a trouser cut in denim.

I wanted a blanket...

...but settled for a cozy, slouchy sweater instead. It's definitely Fall. Yesterday while shopping with a client I mentioned how fun it is to buy cozy sweaters in the Fall, and then in the Spring we want to throw them away!

Bits and Pieces...

...of the "new" studio. We (Chad, Allison, and I. We share a studio.) worked hard last week painting, cleaning, and moving in new furniture. What you see behind me is the new chalkboard wall. I can't wait to doodle on it (it's still curing), and a few other fun pieces we added. I will post full pictures when it's all done.

I am loving my new Teaberry Lipstick. It's such a pretty color for Fall and I have been wearing it with eveerything.
